Courage and bravery

Have the courage to examine how you think.

Whether you play sport or play life, I hope something will resonate and help.

To succeed don’t be drawn into the low-level detail that distracts from your main objectives. I don’t mean detail is not important – just be brave enough to select the details that count.

Bravery is not the absence of fear but a way of thinking that creates enough courage to inspire a different outcome.

Respect your small wins no matter how they come about. Be brave enough to say well done and it’s okay to be lucky - to yourself.

Succeeding through courage does not mean always reaching the summit, but the attitude through which you climb your ladder in the face of pleasure and adversity.

What value does courage have in life?

  • One of the most important virtues for a person is to have is courage. Courage is the ingredient that enables you to persevere in the face of your fears, and to overcome. It is through overcoming life’s major challenges that we progress.
  • The value of taking action in order to build courage cannot be underestimated.

One of the most rewarding and important moments in life is when you finally find the courage to let go of what you can’t change, like someone else’s behaviour or decisions.

Inner peace begins the moment you decide not to let another person or event control your emotions.

You really can’t take things other people say about you too personally. What they think and say is usually a reflection of them, not you. Don’t let others stop you from being brave just because they are not!

Life is a fantastic test of our resilience and courage to learn. Consistent courage and desire to take action everyday builds momentum and little wins. Life is a complex puzzle and sometimes putting the pieces in the right place takes time so cement courage into your DNA by doing one uncomfortable thing a day.

Quote of the day:

"Have the courage to be an optimist. No one knows enough to be a pessimist"
